#mynameis Anita Cox – Never Trust Facebook

I haven’t been on facebook much the last few months. I suffered a back injury and honestly, I would have done nothing but whine. So I kept my posting/scrolling to a minimum.

But I’m in groups on facebook that are important, groups I’ve PAID to have access to. I’ve taken expensive training courses where updated material is added.

On May 19th, I went to my millionth doctor’s appointment for my back injury. As I waited to see the doc, I pulled up facebook and bam…I was suspended and had to prove my identity.

Screenshot 2017-05-19 12.05.53

I apparently impersonated myself. So fine, I reluctantly sent them my driver’s license. After FIVE hours and several messages, my regular profile was reinstated. The minute it was, they shut down my Anita Cox profile.

Insert tears.

So I’ve paid for courses through Nick Stevenson and Mark Dawson. This has given me access to private groups and content. I can no longer get to those groups. I imagine if I contact them, they’ll help me out, but that’s my time, and theirs, robbed because of Facebook.

Then….there’s my fan page. I am the only admin on my fan page so now, I’ve lost SIX YEARS worth of work. I’ve sent them signed contracts, mail, etc. and still…I’m banned. BANNED!

There’s literally no customer service at Facebook. There are bots that spit out responses…maybe. I’ve received no response from them whatsoever, I’m just still locked out.

We live in a day in age where everyone is on social media. We also live in a world where identities are stolen all the time. Why does Zuckerburg and his underlings need my driver’s license, bank statements, mail, and other identifying information JUST TO BE ON SOCIAL MEDIA? Jesus, it was easier to get a home loan than to prove I am Anita Cox? That I operate as Anita Cox, have for years. They’re costing me time, money, anxiety.

There’s no guarantee I’ll ever see my page again. None. No one to reason with over at FuckupyourlifeBook.

They want this information so they can share it–so they can expose you. Forget the money I’ve spent on ads with Facebook. Forget that my BUSINESS is attached. They can rip away your contact with the world…just because.

And don’t give me the Community Standards bullshit. There are TONS of people online who operate under a pseudonym. Tons. Authors and other professionals use them all the time. Facebook has made it so that you cannot reply to people during events and whatnot from your fanpage. They made this mess and you have to try to navigate the waters that they change at whim…because they can.

And after SEVEN years of being on facebook as Anita Cox they rip it all away in ONE day. My contacts, my livelihood…threatened by them for no apparent reason.

So, I’m going to sit here binge eating Hershey Bars, chasing it with strong coffee while I figure out how to proceed. If that doesn’t work, maybe I’ll stick some xanax in the next chocolate bar and just slip away into the night, never to be heard from again.

We need a different platform. We need one that will be easy for people to switch to because this…this is awful and I’m not the first, nor the last, person this has happened to. One author’s post I just read quit writing entirely. She was doing very well until some dickweed reported her for impersonation. It was all downhill from there.

Asshat of the Day, Cinco de Mayo Edition

Dear Lord…SWEET BABY JESUS! It takes a special kind of tool to drag me back to a blog where I haven’t had much to say.

First, for those of you not ‘in the know’, authors, cover artists, and yes, even publishing houses use stock art. These photos are not exclusive and can be used more than once. Probably numerous times. There’s a group on goodreads (sorry, I tried to find it again but just gave up) that literally pokes fun at similar covers.

This article sort of touches on that very topic. It’s very likely that if you go looking, you’ll find the exact same photo on more than a few books. You can pay for exclusive photos, but those are salty.

Okay, she’s discovered a similar cover. It happens. But Thieves? Really? Because this shit happens all of the time…rookie.

Screenshot 2016-05-06 03.30.41

“Seriously, They (sic) just took off his beard and filtered it. FUCK THAT” Uh, no. I’ve seen this pic before. This author put the beard on the guy (poorly, I might add.) But she didn’t bother to correct her croanie. Screenshot 2016-05-06 03.35.15

Now here, Ms. Shaw tries to tactfully defend herself. (Bravo for not losing your shit, by the way.) Let me direct you to the last comment by the asshat. “and not even a book no ones heard of but a pretty popular book.” Really princess? Because I’ve never heard of you or your book. It’s great to have self-confidence, but you passed that intersection a long time ago.

By the way, I never heard of you until now and this is the impression you left. You’re rude, arrogant, lack common sense and decency and probably needs to hire a PR firm…that no one else has ever heard of. You know…just in case.

Screenshot 2016-05-06 03.39.14

She continued on her book page…to insult Shaw MORE by comparing her to children. By the way, “Now who looks like a child?” You do.

Seriously. Then, Captain Obvious acknowledges that starting Twitter fights isn’t the best business decision. Excuse me…you posted a link to an author’s book on social-fucking-media and called her a thief. Twitter is open so you can respond. No one butted in, this woman tried to defend the name SHE worked for that YOU were trying to smear, fuckbucket.

This fine specimen continues to tweet to herself. If her book is anything like her tweets, I’m sure she gets a lot of returns.

Screenshot 2016-05-06 03.43.54

Meredith drinks a lot of wine, but perhaps you mean whiny? The last tweet? I. Just. Can’t.

We are a community. We should support one another. I’ve met so many fantastic authors, readers, bloggers…all who support one another.

For 10 years I’ve not called out another author. I have never said one negative word and gave an author’s name. You, my dear, earned screenshots. Congrats!

Scarlett Moon Release Day

ScarlettMoonCover-promo - Copy

From Bestselling Paranormal Romance Author Lisa Olsen

I’m not hiding who I am. Well, I’m hiding what I am, because you don’t just say Hey, everybody, I’m Scarlett and I’m a shifter at the first mixer. All I want is the chance to go to college with normal people and lead a normal life for a change, maybe even meet a normal guy. I’ve just been too chicken to go after it until now.

I’m making friends, I even met a cute guy who seems into me. Everything’s working out like I’d hoped. Except for this other guy, Kane, who thinks he has to protect me, just because we’re both wolves. Every time I turn around he’s there with his dark, piercing stares and his deep, sexy voice that somehow manages to get past my defenses. I left my pack back home for a new start. The last thing I want is to get caught up in any shifter drama, no matter how sexy the package it comes wrapped up in is.

Kane is exactly the kind of man I don’t want. Bossy, infuriating, insisting he knows what’s best without even asking me, and so freaking hot, his ego’s the size of Texas. I especially hate it when he’s right. It turns out there are scarier things out there than midterms, and they’re after me.

* * *

The last thing Kane’s looking for is a mate – but that’s exactly what his Alpha has ordered him to bring home. A very specific mate. Adding Scarlett LaRoche to the pack will cement his ties to her pack and the prophecy, which puts him one step closer to the ultimate power. But can he seduce a girl that doesn’t want to be seduced?

Challenge accepted.

*** Scarlett Moon is a shifter paranormal romance with steamy sex and violence, and should not be read by those under 18. It can be read as a stand alone book, or as part of The Wolves of Cutter’s Folly, and has a HEA. ***

Kane had me under his spell, and I felt a flutter of panic as I realized I’d made a big mistake in agreeing to this dance. But suddenly, I realized he was under mine as well. I could feel the effect of the tiniest shift in my hips all along his body, and the desperate way his hands smoothed over my skin. He was mine, every bit as much as I was his in that moment.

It was a definite high, knowing he was completely attuned to my every move. I felt sexy and alive in a way I’d never felt before, and part of it was because I knew I shouldn’t be doing this. Kane wasn’t what I wanted in a man.

But it was just a dance.

Turning, my back pressed against his chest, never missing a beat when his hands closed on my hips. His hot breath fanned across my neck, and my skin tingled as I sensed his hunger for more than the dance. Kane’s arm wrapped around my middle, pulling me close, and I flashed back to that hot kiss in his kitchen – the feel of his hands on my bare flesh and the rush of desire I’d felt. Was still feeling. Pressed up against the length of his body, we swayed and pulsed together to the beat of the music. At the brush of his lips against my ear, my hand stole up to wrap around the back of his neck, pulling him closer.

“Your body remembers me.” His voice was low and intimate by my ear.

It wasn’t just a dance. It was so much more.

He was right, my body throbbed for his touch, and in that moment I wanted it too. “I remember lots of things,” I whispered back, trusting his ears to pick it up through the din of the room.

“So do I. I’m a fucking idiot for letting you go that night.”

No, he’d been right to let me go instead of forcing the issue. Stopping had been the right thing to do. Just like I knew I should put on the brakes before what we were doing got too out of hand. And yet my body still moved with his, shivering with delight when I turned to face him and his fingers traced a path down my back.

“Admit it. You feel it too.” His cheek nuzzled against mine, marking me with his scent.

“I don’t want to,” I murmured, even as I erased the last breath of space between us, pressing up against him shamelessly.

“You’re mine,” Kane growled, his fingers sinking into my hair to tip my face up before he took my lips. I opened my mouth to him, awash in the taste of him, drowning in his scent. The kiss in his kitchen had been a pale shadow of the heat that sparked between us on the crowded dance floor. I’d never had anyone take control of me like that.

I was utterly his prisoner, trapped by the cage of his arms. One hand held my head in place while the other clutched at my hip as he took what he wanted. He growled again, a primal sound that touched something deep inside me, and I clutched him tighter, my nails raking against his back in my desperation to get closer to him. My reservations were gone. Kane was everything I wanted in a man and the only man for me as I kissed him back with everything I had.

Moonsong reviews

I am a writer, wife, and mother of two currently living in the Pacific Northwest. I am a complete TV addict (have to have it on at all times, even when I’m writing). I also enjoy online RPG’s, singing, reading, cooking… lots more I can’t think of at the moment.

The supernatural has long been my favorite to write and read. Werewolves, vampires, witchcraft, ghosts, things that go bump in the night; these are a few of my favorite things to write about. Not sparkly beings with phenomenal cosmic power that are always the smartest, bravest, prettiest Mary Sue to walk the planet, but real people who just happen to have this little quirk…

I’ve just published my 27th book, Scarlett Moon (The second of my Wolves of Cutter’s Folly shifter books). I’m currently working on Carter, which takes place in the Forged Bloodlines vampire universe.

Southern Comforts Anthology

Southern Comforts Anthology

Only 99 cents for a limited time!

Stiff drinks, hard men & hot southern nights.

Finding love can prove to be a difficult journey for even the strong-hearted, but when you’ve been hurt, the path to find comfort can be a long, seemingly never ending one. But there is hope as each of these stories demonstrate, and love can be found when each of these characters allow passion and desire to light their way.

Kentucky on the Rocks by Gwendolyn Grace:

Josette Lewis has been living a lie and needs to get out of Kentucky as soon as possible. To her devastation, the ultimatum she gives her long time boyfriend, Derek, has backfired. Before she can tuck tail and move home to California she must put her house on the market and upgrade her security system to keep Derek out of her life for good. When, Aidan Ross, a hunky security consultant shows at her front door Josette is instantly charmed by his sexy grin and easy-going ways. Can she let go of her familiar pretenses and allow Aidan convince her to take another chance at love.

I loved his dominance in bed and that he took from me what he wanted. I loved his dirty mouth as he described everything he wanted to do to me and followed through on every word. He had total power over my pleasure, and I was all too happy to give him the control.

Tequila Sunrises over Georgia by Yara Greathouse:

Gia chooses to fill her life with work instead of love. As the top home designer in her firm, she is prepared to handle anything… until she meets Carter. He owns the company that was hired for renovations and he takes a very hands-on approach to everything. Suddenly Gia finds herself daydreaming about Carter demonstrating his hands-on abilities with her… One night, after a few drinks, their imminent attraction takes over and an agreement is made: They will be each other’s sexual comfort and nothing more for the length of this project. Will they be able to keep their arrangement without complications? Or will it be too hard to say goodbye?

I taste her, lick her. I inhale her. I don’t want the moment to end.

She tastes like mint, cherries and obsession.

I press behind her back, pulling her closer.

We lost ourselves in that kiss.

We found each other in that kiss.

Our bodies melded while we kissed.

It was a perfect unexpected seal.

I was out of breath and willing to let her take all my oxygen.

It was a kiss to be remembered.

A kiss where our lips worshiped each other and marred us for other people.

When we finally came up for air, it was done slowly.

I don’t think I will experience another first kiss like this with anyone else, because I want all my future kisses to come from her.

Only her.

Alabama Sweet Tea by S.C. Hutchinson:

After ten years, Christi thought she left Alabama and all it represented behind. Her life was great. She loved her job, loved her friends, and loved city life.

Brian has become quite a success as an attorney. His opponents cower before him and do everything to avoid facing him in an actual court room. Ten years ago, his life changed. She disappeared from his life, but not from his heart. She is the one ‘case’ he could never crack.

Now, she has returned home to bury her father and settle his estate. Is this his chance? Will he find answers to his questions?

She felt his hands reach for hers. His fingers caressed the smooth skin on her arms until they found the top button of her blouse. He broke the seal of their kiss as he began to speak.

“If I were to tell you that I loved you before we were introduced, would you believe me?” The first button was unfastened. His hands slowly slid toward the next button. “If I told you that I know more about you than you realize, would you know I spoke the truth?”

Tennessee Moonshine by Ella Dominguez:

Everyone finds comfort in something different, for Dustin, it’s decorating his flesh and brewing moonshine. Businessman by day, he hides his passion for ink beneath a suit, but when he meets a beautiful stranger at a local tattoo shop who then shows up at his place of business, there’s no hiding his attraction for her. Sparks fly when they give into their desires, but it’s only when they learn to let the past go that they find comfort in one another.

“Find anything interesting?” he chimed in, startling her.

She promptly jumped up. “You’ve been quite thorough. From what I can tell, anyway. I’m no expert on these things. I was worried that…” her neatly plucked eyebrows slammed together.

“That I wouldn’t remain professional after our little encounter?” Defensiveness tinged his words as he stepped into the office and strode toward his desk.

“Little encounter?” Uncertainty laced her words.

“What would you call it?” he glared at her.

“I wouldn’t call it anything.” When she saw him wince, she whispered, “God, that sounded bad. I didn’t mean it to come out like that.” She sighed and sank into the chair across from his desk. “I’m so bad at this.”

He seated himself and crossed his arms over his chest. “This?”

“Is that what we’re doing?” he asked when her eyes flicked upward and met his. “Dating seems like a big leap. I thought we were just getting to know each other.”

“I suppose,” her voice lowered to a whisper.

Now it was his turn to apologize. “Damn, we’re both bad at this. I’m sorry, I just thought we had a genuine connection the other night and after talking to you all week… I thought… Oh, hell…” he broke off.

“There is a connection. You’re not wrong about that,” she leaned forward on her chair to reach her hands across his desk. “I enjoy your company,” she skimmed her fingers over the tops of his hands. “And I love talking to you. It’s been a long time since I’ve done this thing we’re doing. And you have no idea how grateful I am that you’re still willing to work on my finances despite my being so…,” she moistened her lips in a nervous gesture and fidgeted with the nameplate on his desk, “distant. But I have my reasons. I just can’t go into them,” the loud gulp of her swallow could be heard. “Not yet, anyway.”

“I get it,” he swiftly cut her off and reached for his coffee.

“Good,” she exhaled a loud sigh of relief. “So can we go back to your place again or what? I’ve been dying for another taste of that moonshine and to get you in the sack again.”

Texas with a Twist by C.C. Wood:

In high school, Gabby yearned for Logan Westfall from afar, unaware that he wanted her just as badly. But Logan had a plan- to leave his hometown as soon as he graduated, so he never made his move.

Fourteen years later, Logan returns and his sights are set on Gabby St. John. He walked away from her once, and it’s a mistake he won’t repeat. She’s the one that got away, but not for long.

“Just promise me you’ll give me and us a chance, Gabby.”

“One day at a time,” she whispered.

“One day at a time.”

Instead of answering, Logan kissed her, his lips soft and sweet. Gabby felt her heart turn over at the gentleness of his touch. He was offering her everything she ever wanted. She only needed the guts to take it.

She climbed off his lap, holding out a hand. He took it and let her help him to his feet. Without a word, she led him into her bedroom.

If they were going to take this one day a a time, then she wanted to make the most of this day. And every day that she could.

Publishing Secrets

Top secret

My inbox has been filling up lately with private messages from other authors seeking advice, knowledge, etc.

First thing you should know, is that I’m not an expert. The second thing you should know is that anyone selling you the secret to publishing success is a snake oil salesman. So stop spending your money on this shit.

The only thing I have that you (those seeking advice from the likes of me) don’t is time and education. I have books published traditionally and all on my own, because I diversified. I chose to. Whether that’s right or wrong, I don’t know, but it’s what I’ve done. I research this industry every single week. I’m always trying to educate myself, so that I’m smarter…but mostly, so it’s not so scary.

Let me tell you, it’s been a bumpy road. I’ve learned a lot. I’ll share everything I know with you. But I can’t say it enough…there’s no secret recipe for success. Some if it is luck, but most of it is making smart decisions and working your ass off.

Covers are so important. Just because you love a cover, it doesn’t mean it’ll sell the book. Case in point, I HATE the covers for my Dirty White Candy series. I mean…I HATE them. I hate posting the books because I have to look at covers that make me want to cry. But it’s done and there’s nothing I can do about it. The publisher has control and I do not.

Sometimes, you just have to deal with things you don’t like. Sometimes, it doesn’t matter if you like it…as long as the buyers buy. There are a lot of sites selling pre-made covers.  If you self-publish but are not proficient in Photoshop, you can still get a decent cover…or at least one you like.

Keywords are very important. I purchased Kindle Spy to see what keywords work best in my genre. Do you have to purchase Kindle Spy? Not at all. Case in point, I was researching for my erotic paranormal romance and guess what keywords are best sellers? Shifter, Series, Werewolf, and Bear. A little common sense is really all it takes.

How would YOU search for a book in that genre? There you go. Be sure you’re not wasting valuable keyword spaces putting in your book title, your author name, or subtitle. Those will default in the search anyway.

Oh this is where most authors (myself included) are seeking the golden nugget. How do we get ourselves out there so our sales increase and we show up in the top 10/50/100???

After a decade in this business, my opinion is that using your social media platforms to advertise is a bad business decision. That doesn’t mean you can’t post your books, you certainly can (and probably should mention them occasionally.) But FB posts and tweets about books are becoming white noise.

Paid advertising is always a good idea. If you’re budget is super tight, then buy small ads on small sites and grow from there. Take authors up on blog swaps, etc. As sales increase, increase your exposure by purchasing larger ads on larger sites. It will make a difference. At least it has for me.

That’s really it – there’s no secret. Max exposure and a great cover will cause buyers to click. But you need to buy ads where READERS go…not other authors. Keep that in mind. Authors read books but you’re looking for the mass audience…not a subsection.

head bang

I know, I know… but WHERE ARE THE READERS? Keep looking. Stay diverse. You’ll find them.

Your newsletter

Once you get a fan, keep them. Mention in your books, on your blog…everywhere to get your fans to sign up for your newsletter. Then give them something to stay…deleted scenes, free reads…something. Remember the phrase Value Added Service. They should get something for following your newsletter that the general population does not get.

Finding fans is the hard part. Keeping them is easy if you just tend your flock.

Keep Writing

This advice is given over and over again and it’s true. The only way to make real money in this business is to have a bunch of books for people to buy. One book won’t make you rich, not unless you go viral and please don’t hold out for that. There are so many books out there and going viral is like winning the lottery. The odds are against you.

Don’t be a dick

Yes, it’s really that simple. I’ve been a dick. I’ve made mistakes. But I’m not a dick all of the time. And I’m certainly not a dick to my colleagues.

We have a wonderful community. Most authors will support one another. We share your work, give you blog space, beta read, etc. Don’t shit where you eat. It sounds crass but it’s true. Recently an author went on a rampage and drew the wrath of the community. It was ugly. I begged her to take down her post and pray for it all to blow over.

But she didn’t know me…nor did she care. She continued her douchebaggery and now she’s out there…like a raft in the middle of the ocean and without the support of her community.

I get it. We all have bad days. I get PMs from baby authors asking questions all of the time. Sometimes, I ignore them. Sometimes I help. Sometimes, I act like an ass and ask if their google is broken. I’m human. I’ll keep saying it… I make mistakes.

Most importantly, if you act like a dick in public, you’ll turn off your fans. They won’t buy from you ever again and that’ll kill your career.

If you get a bunch of seasoned indies in a room and ask what software they use, the answers will be as diverse as a bag of skittles. So, I’ll tell you what I use.

MS Word for writing.
Photoshop for teasers, covers, and other media.
Calibre to convert Word docs into ePub docs.
Corel VideoStudio for mp4s (video.)
(Not software entirely) An external hard drive for backup and Dropbox for redundancy.
Norton AntiVirus.
Google Chrome as a web browser…because I like the features.

There are a lot of different software providers out there. I know a lot of authors use Scrivener to write, and they love it. But I’ve used Word for years in both my professional and personal life, so…it’s cozy and familiar.

Educate yourself

Really, stay up to date. When Amazon acts like a dick and throws out another platform…at least learn about it. Sometimes, getting in on the ground floor of a new platform can be beneficial. Sometimes, it can GUT YOUR FUCKING INCOME like KU did to me.

But know your stuff. Follow industry professionals/blogs/newsletters, etc. The more you know, the less frightening or stressful this will all be.

Don’t be a dick…no seriously

Touching on this subject once more… I’ve had it happen to me, more than once. Don’t ask for help and not return it. If someone spends hours making you a book cover, don’t take it and run. Do SOMETHING for them. Anything.

Your community is not a rug, so don’t treat it like one.

It’s hard work

I can’t stress this enough. This business is not for the faint of heart. There ARE bullies out there. There are people who will give you a big fat ONE STAR review just to be an ass. People can be rude. Sales will go up and down.

You have to stick with it. You have to keep working, whenever, wherever you can.

Or you don’t. In that case, don’t publish that book. Life will be a lot less complicated if you don’t.

Warning: This is neither a conventional romance nor a traditional love story. There are no hearts and flowers on the pages of this book. The heroine doesn’t always make wise choices and though I’ve tried to make her strong, she’s often times weak in the face of the fierce hero. The hero is not a knight in a shining armor. He’s broken and frequently cruel, and what every woman in the real world should avoid. What’s contained in this book isn’t real – it’s fiction; dark, depraved and decadent make-believe. Contains detailed sexual encounters, uncomfortable situations and erotic elements including voyeurism, oral and anal. Intended for readers 18+. If you’re down with that, then by all means… read on.

Obsession, possession, resilience, insanity…

Seeking solitude and reprieve from her past failed relationships, Elsa begins her life anew in Richmond, hoping to find the change that she so desperately needs. Things are looking up for her, a new job, new friends… a fresh start.

But Victor has different plans for her. From the moment he heard her voice and set his eyes on Elsa, she became next on his to-do list; his Chapter 8. A well-known and respected criminal profiler, his mind is as dark as the people he hunts down. It takes one to know one, after all. Under the guise of making his subjects stronger, he intends to break Elsa down using everything in his arsenal, including pleasure, pain, humiliation, and things unspeakable. Everyone is fair game in his book and he discriminates against no one when he chooses his test subjects.

Lonely, still on the mend from a bad break-up and longing for sexual attention, Elsa consents to an odd proposition, unaware of Victor’s plans. However, she can’t be broken so easily and what he puts her through only fuels the fire burning within her, a flame that begins to blaze out of control as she becomes obsessed with everything about Victor and peeling back his cruel layers in search of the real man hiding beneath his heartless facade.

In Victor’s world, there is no such thing as happily ever after and Chapter 8 proves to be an infuriating challenger when she flips the tables on his selfish and twisted game, a game they both may end up losing their hearts and minds over.

Hide and Go Freak

Oh I realize it sounds like a kinky game, and sure, I’ll share some of those with you (as I always have.) But this post won’t be about that.

From March to July of this year, I worked harder than I’ve ever worked before. Spending 13-16 hours a day on writing, editing, blogging, marketing, etc., and with the help of a dedicated, but brutal editor, I put out four books in five months.  That’s almost a book a month…and not a novella or serial like some authors are resorting to… novels.

In the meantime, my eldest needed braces. I looked at my lack of retirement savings, Amazon’s experimentation with how to make money, and realized, it was time to go grab a day job. I’ve been writing and publishing for ten years. I’ve carved out a nice little place for myself among my peers. But I need things, and so do my children.

I started the new job (which wasn’t on days, mind you) at the end of March. I managed to publish books in April and July. I was exhausted…spent….frustrated. So, I backed off social media and…well, I did this.

I just sort of disappeared. Oh, I popped onto Facebook from time to time to reassure folks I was still around. Just as I was about to get back into the swing of things, I was switched to the midnight shift.

Now I had to try to figure out when to sleep, when to eat, and when to get ANYTHING done. Yes, it is a challenge to sleep when the weather is beautiful outside… My house slipped into something close to filth and squalor and I went some days on as little as 3 hours of sleep.

That doesn’t lend well to creativity. But, I have great benefits. The pay isn’t bad, and I now have a Pension and 401(k)! Whooo hoooo!

But…I must write. This isn’t a hobby for me. It never has been. I take it seriously and let me tell you… if I don’t write, my head will explode!

Many authors have full-time jobs. It’s simply the reality of trying to compete with a very diluted pool. Amazon keeps starting new programs…like KU that just GUT our income. A library option is great for the reader, but when you make ten cents on the dollar (or less) so that they make subscription fees…it’s not hard to see who is getting the short end of the stick here. It takes months of hard work, money, and expense of time with family to craft a full-length novel. I keep mine priced reasonably. Sidenote: I also read a lot! When I buy a “novel” for $5.68 I expect to be able to enjoy for more than TWO HOURS! I will never throw a novella at you for more than a freakin eBook should cost. Jesus!

The point of all of this is, rest assured, the Shifter Chronicles will have it’s finale. I also have a Dystopian/Sci-Fi series I have started engineering. I love creating new worlds where the possibilities are endless and this one…has me excited.

Because I’m not going away anytime soon. Hell, I fight like a girl, and these stories WILL submit to me.
